This morning I started to prep the French officer conversion I spoke about. I have not decided which regiment to paint him up as, or maybe I will make him a staff officer, or an enthusiastic young ADC.
I have cut the tricorne from another figure, soldered it securely to the sword tip and glued on a new head. Will milliput and file later, add a scabbard and reigns , then hopefully paint tomorrow.
Hopefully he will end up looking something like this.

Graham, I've been enjoying your blog for a while but only commenced blogging recently myself. I like this pose. It reminds me of a picture of CSA Brigadier Lewis Armistead of Pickets Charge fame, waving his hat and urging his troops on as they reach the high-water mark of the Confederacy!I'm sure your figure will be just as inspiring. Regard Greg
ReplyDeleteYou are correct. Armistead is how I envisage the figure. Hopefully I will get back to the conversion this weekend. Too many distractions this week. I am just finishing a regiment of Royal Roussillon cavalry, and I will probably paint him up as and officer in that regiment
